Mural Making with Dunbar School

The big picture

DSCN0879

Amelia Lee, 10, and Chelsea Young, 9, add their own flourishes to the annual, weeklong mural project at Dunbar School. When completed, this year’s panel, called “Explore and Discover,” becomes an interactive teaching tool about water in nature, explained art coordinator Beth Bierman.

Mendocino artist Janet Self oversaw this fourth annual project, in which each and every Dunbar student takes part. The project is underwritten by the Sonoma Plein Air Foundation. This is a FLOCKworks project, fostering community through creativity.

All Hands In...painting with Dunbar School

Covered in paint, these are end of the day hands (not actually mine but ...)  So imagine the delight of my week painting a mural with all 200 children (k-5) at Dunbar School in Glen Ellen, Sonoma County.  Everyone one does a little, adding their special part and it certainly adds up!  Can't wait to share photos of the project!

FLOCKworks @ EARTH DAY...

FLOCKworks at Noyo Food Forest's 8th Annual EARTH DAY... our fifth year turning old buildings into a visual feast for this amazing Garden setting.

Lots of helpers, lots of fun!  Can't to get back & finish it.
