START TO FINISH, REDWOOD MURAL

All 425 children from kindergarten to 2nd grade helped create this 40 foot mural as a lasting gift for Redwood School in Ft. Bragg. What an great experience 'orchestrating' this incredible 6 day art process.  

Great New Show...June @ Historic Odd Fellows

A great exhibit combining art with whimsy, spirit and craft.  With 15 artists from Anderson Valley and beyond, the work is rich, diverse and lively, well worth a drop in to the historic Odd Fellows in Mendocino (corner of Kasten & Ukiah streets).  Opening Party is this Saturday night, June 13, from 5-7 pm... Meet the artists and visit with friends and neighbors.  Show goes through June 29, 11-5 daily except closed Tuesday & Wednesday. (937-2728)

Amelia Lee, 10, and Chelsea Young, 9, add their own flourishes to the annual, weeklong mural project at Dunbar School. When completed, this year’s panel, called “Explore and Discover,” becomes an interactive teaching tool about water in nature, explained art coordinator Beth Bierman.

Mendocino artist Janet Self oversaw this fourth annual project, in which each and every Dunbar student takes part. The project is underwritten by the Sonoma Plein Air Foundation. This is a FLOCKworks project, fostering community through creativity.

All Hands In...painting with Dunbar School

Covered in paint, these are end of the day hands (not actually mine but ...)  So imagine the delight of my week painting a mural with all 200 children (k-5) at Dunbar School in Glen Ellen, Sonoma County.  Everyone one does a little, adding their special part and it certainly adds up!  Can't wait to share photos of the project!
